James Davis Odom, 53, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 10AM-12PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will follow at 12PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Bro. Danny Avery officiating. Interment will be in Betheden Cemetery, Louisville, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Odom was born July 2, 1960 in Columbus, MS to Dale Howard Nanna and the late L.C. Charles Odom. He was of the Baptist faith and was a truck driver for 15 years. In addition to his father, Mr. Odom is preceded in death by his brother, Chris Odom and grandparents, Kenny (Adell) Froshour and James C. Howard. Mr. Odom is survived by wife - Christine "Chris" Morton Odom, Columbus, MS; daughter - Candice (Joey) Cornelius, Haleyville, AL; sons - CJ (Ceadar) Odom, Tuscaloosa, AL and Jonathan Odom, Memphis, TN; step son - William Bradford, Jr., Columbus, MS; son/grandson - Richard Odom, Columbus, MS; grandchildren - Courtney Odom, Paige Odom, Ariana Cornelius, J.P. Cornelius, Gracie Odom, and James C. Odom; sisters - Virginia Harris, Elsie Bowen, and Lisa Sawyer; brothers - Tommy Dearing, Mike Dearing, and Bill Dearing; grandmother - Bessie Howard; mother in law - Nell Hedrick; brother in law - Randy Morton; a host of nieces and nephews; and a host of aunts and uncles. Pallbearers will be Joey Cornelius, Elvis Strickland, Josh Cook, Harvey Cook, Chris Cook, and Jeremy Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Swoope, Mike Eads, Phillip Crossley, Employees of MIWD Waste Pro, and CAFB friends.
