James Edward "Jim" Ragon, 75 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, January 07, 2022, at his residence.

Visitation will be Monday,  January 10, 2022, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kevin Jenkins officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Ragon was born on January 10, 1946, to the late Rome and Rose Cook Ragon in Pope, MS.  He was Captain of the Columbus Fire Department and retired there after 25 years of service.  Mr. Ragon was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Ragon was survived by his wife – Debra "Debbie" Thweatt Ragon, Columbus, MS; son – Chad (Lindi) Ragon, Northport, AL; step-daughter – Natalie (David) Adams Hegwood, Brandon, MS; step-son – Stuart Adams, Starkville, MS; grandchildren – Linzi Ragon, Cayden Ragon, Ansley Martinez, Colton Hegwood; sister – Pam Jones and step-father – David Bell.

Pallbearers will be Jason Pool, Robert Pool, Ronnie Smith, Tommy Kidd, Greg Dodson, Bobby Barksdale, and Todd Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Columbus Fire and Rescue and retirees.
