Obituary

Jane Annis Jones Zmora, 84, of Caledonia passed away in the early morning on
November 19, 2024, at Generations of Vernon. Born on December 16, 1939, to
Ivan Jones and Donna Jaunita White Jones.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bob Jones and Dick Jones
and her loving sister, Judith Elaine Jones Whitcomb, as well as her beloved
husband, Norman Zmora, whom she was married just shy of 52 years.

Jane lived for 50 plus years in California where she worked for many years as an
Operations Manager for the stock exchange. Once retired from the workforce,
Jane took a part time job at the local YMCA in La Jolla and volunteered for many
years helping with the American Cancer Society, the local police station, and the
Jewish Family Services. She also went back to college at Mesa Community
College to take courses, where she excelled. Jane had a big heart filled with
compassion for all military men and women and if she saw one in public, she made
certain she thanked them for their service personally.

Jane made Mississippi her home, coming to live with her nephew, Troy, and his
wife in 2021 after the loss of the love of her life. She spent the remaining few
years surrounded by her loving and adoring family and considered herself to be a
transplanted "sweet southern mess." She always had a contagious laugh and a
good sense of humor.

Jane is survived by numerous nephews and nieces, Stan Jones (Kathleen) of Santa
Fe, NM, Shelly (Bernie) Grisaffi of Caledonia, MS, Troy (Leigh) Kriley of
Caledonia, MS, Paul (Maggie) Fahn of Sunnyvale, CA, Jim (Ping) Fahn of
Oakland, CA, Jason Cushner (Sarah Bertucci) of Estes Park, CO, and Stefani
(Kyle) Hartsfield of Richmond, VT as well as her dear sisters-in-law, Charlotte
(Stan) Fahn of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and Marion Zmora Cushner of Williston,
VT. She also leaves behind numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces
and cousins, all of whom she loved so dearly. She also leaves behind many friends
and precious caretakers from Generations of Vernon.

A memorial service will be Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11:30 am at Lowndes
Funeral Home, in Columbus, MS with Dr. Bonnie Oppenheimer, Sh'lichat Tzibbur
(lay leader) for Congregation B'nai Israel in Columbus, leading the service. The
internment will take place later at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, CA,
where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Norman Zmora.
