Janie Nancy Duff, 78 of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Golden Living Nursing Home, Ripley, MS. Visitation was Monday, November 17, 2014 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services were Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Mike Duff officiating. The body lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Duff was born December 8, 1935 in Perry County, TN to the late Raymond and Jesse Coble Grimes. She worked for United Technologies for 35 years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Duff loved gardening and flowers, she loved to cook for her family and she loved her children. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband- Otis A. Duff and brothers-Junior Grimes and Robert Grimes. Mrs. Duff is survived by her daughters- Mary (Larry) Ponder, Columbus, MS, Carolyn (Terry) Hall, Blue Mountain, MS and Linda ( Bud) Wainright, Austin, TX; her son- Michael (Terri) Duff, Lawrenceburg, TN; step-daughter- Barbara Keeton, Decaturville, TN; sisters -Betty (Steve) Adcock, Kathy (Trent) Depriest, Debbie (Randy) Little; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Daniel Wainright, Chris Duff, Jason Hall, Russell Ponder, Jr. and Steven Bush. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Ponder, Sr., Terry Hall and Bud Wainright. The family would like to thank the many healthcare workers that have taken care of Mrs. Duff over the years. Memorials may be made to Mt.
