IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jean Moffett
Perry
August 18, 1934 – September 6, 2024
Ms. Jeane Perry, 90, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving daughter. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and service, and she leaves behind a legacy that touched everyone who knew her. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she lived with a heart full of kindness and devotion to her family and faith. Born on August 18, 1934, in Macon, Ms. Jeane was the daughter of W.O. and Sallie Moffett, who instilled in her the values of hard work, compassion, and faith. She carried these lessons throughout her life, creating a home filled with love, warmth, and grace.
Jeane dedicated her life to her family and her faith. Her love and care were evident in everything she did, especially in the beautiful quilts she crafted by hand. Every stitch was sewn with love, turning fabric into family treasures that will be cherished for generations. Her quilts were more than just blankets—they were symbols of her warmth, patience, and endless devotion to those she held dear.
Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was deeply committed to her church. For many years, she served as a Sunday School teacher for adults, guiding others in their spiritual journeys with wisdom, grace, and compassion. Her classes were a place of deep reflection and fellowship, and she touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and unwavering faith. One of her greatest joys in life was attending gospel singing concerts. The music filled her soul and strengthened her connection to her faith. She never missed a chance to attend, often bringing along family and friends to share in the experience. Those moments of fellowship and praise brought her immense happiness.
Family was everything to Jeane. She was the proud mother to Nancy, who carries forward the values she instilled—love, kindness, and faith. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them, whether it was sharing stories, baking biscuits or cooking dressing, or simply watching them play. She never missed an opportunity to be part of their lives, and her love for them knew no bounds.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Hershel Perry; her cherished child, Hershel David; her dear son-in-law, Dean McDill; her parents, W.O. and Sallie Moffett; and her siblings, Annie Ruth Andrews, James (Buddy) Moffett, Otris McDonald. Though she faced these losses with grace and resilience, her love for them remained strong throughout her life.
Jeane is survived by her sister, Patricia Marshal (McMinnville, OR), daughter, Nancy McDill; her grandchildren, Chris McDill (Chantel), Amy O'Neal (Matthew); and her great-grandchildren, Aylah, Bryant, Emilee, Denny, AJ, Blake and Jeremiah. She also leaves behind a community of friends and her cherished church family. Jeane's family would like to give their thanks and love to Sheila Guyton for the loving care and devotion she gave to Jeane as her caregiver during the day.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her, and resting in the arms of her Savior. Her legacy of love, faith, and service will continue to inspire all who knew her. A celebration of Jeane's life will be held on September 15th at Victory Free Will Baptist Church at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to Victory Christian Academy, in honor of her lifelong dedication to her faith and community.
