Jean DiCicco Taylor, 79, of Columbus, MS, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving son and family on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Baptist Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, August 22, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Ryan Musgrove officiating.
Jean was born December 15, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Philip DiCicco and Ozell White DiCicco Sansing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother - Paul DiCicco, her sister - Sharon Rose Sansing, and her dad - Leon Sansing.
Jean is survived by her son - Robbie, daughter-in-law Jenny, and three grandchildren - Cross, Maggie, and Ashton Taylor. She is also survived by former husband, Bob Taylor.
She is survived by her brothers - John DiCicco, Mike Sansing (Donna), and Steve Sansing; her sisters - Janice Sansing Thompson (John) and Deborah Dye (Johnny), and her sister-in-law, Jacqueline DiCicco.
Jean is also survived by nieces and nephews - Phil DiCicco, Traci Watkins, Christopher (Lara) Sansing, and Matthew Dye.
Jean spent her early married years in southern California where she worked at Bel Air Country Club in Los Angeles. After returning to Mississippi to raise her son, Robbie, she worked as a secretary and executive assistant for various companies, including Mississippi University for Women. Many years later, she attended culinary school in Memphis, TN, where she honed her cooking skills. (The kitchen was her favorite room!) Jean also worked in Jackson, TN, for many years as a live-in nanny helping raise two children that she loved as her own.
Jean was an active member of Mt. Vernon Church where she met new friends and spent many years on the church's prayer team. She believed in the power of prayer and was honored to take a mission trip with her church to the Dominican Republic.
Pallbearers will be Cross Taylor, Ashton Taylor, Chris Sansing, Dale Carpenter, Roger Dawkins, and Al Wise. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mt. Vernon's Gate Keepers Small Group.
