Jeannette Van Valkenburg 91, of Columbus, MS, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Trinity Health Care, Columbus, MS.

Graveside Service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Memorial Gardens in Columbus, MS with Rev. Luke Lawson officiating. In case of inclement weather, please check www.lowndesfuneralhome.net for any change of service location.

Mrs. Van Valkenburg was born and raised in Laurel, MS. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She attended Jones County Community College and then married her husband, Neal Van Valkenburg, who was active duty/ retired military. For 30 years she traveled the world with him and raised their 4 children.

Mrs. Van Valkenburg was a member of 1st Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Columbus, MS. She was very active in serving at her church. She loved being with friends, playing cards, cooking, riding her bike and was an avid lover of all animals.

Mrs. Van Valkenburg was a very special caring kind- spirited person, devoted to helping and serving others. She touched all who knew her. She is loved and sadly missed but we know heaven rejoices and our Lord is there to greet her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Van Valkenburg is preceded in death by her husband- Neal S. Van Valkenburg.

Mrs. Van Valkenburg is survived by her daughters- Neala (Jeffrey) Weber, Angela (Karey) Atkins, and Carla (Michael) Formel; son- Neal A. (Sherry) Van Valkenburg; grandchildren- Cassie Atkins Hester, Taylor Atkins, Vonnie Formel Moody, Rachael Formel, Tyler Weber, Kalyn Weber, and Jenna Van Valkenburg; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
