Jeff William Long Jeff William Long, 32, of Columbus, MS died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at University Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Albert Wilkerson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS. Born September 24, 1979 in Amory, Mississippi he was the son of Jim and Nettie Mae Long. Jeff was a 1998 graduate of Heritage Academy, attended EMCC and Mississippi State University, was a member of East End Baptist Church and an employee of Ceco Metal Buildings prior to the plant closure. He enjoyed spending time with his son, especially taking him to play at the park, to the lake to watch the ducks, playing golf with his dad and watching "Monk" and "Law and Order" with his mom. He was known by all who knew him to have a deep love for his family and friends, an outgoing personality and unforgettable smile. Jeff was a huge Mississippi State fan and enjoyed going to games with his dad. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Nettie Mae Long,, Columbus, MS; son, Cooper Long, Columbus, MS; sister, Jenny Long Dehlinger, Greenville, SC; Grandmother, Faye Mullican, Steens, MS; Aunt, Kathy Long, North Augusta, SC and Uncles, Johnny (Vicki) Long, Thomasville, AL; J.B. (Joan) Prowell, Steens, MS; cousins, Ben and Sam Prowell, Mary Kate and Kelly Long and nephews, Hunter and Garrett Dehlinger. Pallbearers will be Jud Jones, Chris Coward, Brooke Burkalter,Cam Murray, Jess Roberts and Billy Pennington. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Long, J. B. Prowell, Jr., Kathy Long, Hunter Dehlinger, Mary Katherine Dean, former and present employees of Ceco Building Systems, Columbus, MS; Prayer Partners Especially of East End Baptist Church.
