Jerry Wayne Green, 73, of Columbus, Ms passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS.  The funeral service will be Friday, January 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Ken Hennegar officiating and Bro. Ty Danielson assisting.  The Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Jerry was born on January 5, 1950, in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Allie Mae Oswalt Green and John Woodfin Green.  He was a graduate of New Hope High School class of 1969, where he was a member of the football team. Mr. Green was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a forty-year employee of Omnova Solutions.  Traveling and watching sports were his favorite activities.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.  In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Green.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife – Joyce Parker Green; daughters – Christie (Hank) Norwood and Jennifer (Bryan) Elmore; grandchildren – Hayslie Elmore, Dalton Elmore, Ethan Elmore, Parker Norwood;  and sister – Bertha (Bill) Lockhart.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Elmore, Ethan Elmore, Parker Norwood, Rusty Lockhart, Randy Lockhart and Tom Green.  Honorary pallbearers will be caregiver – Diana Granger, Gentiva Hospice – Emma Smith, Latoya Guyton, Vanette Gunter, Bill Lockhart, Donald Parker, Michael Parker, Terry Parker, Walt Jolly, and Dale Brewer.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
