Obituary

Jerry "Rebel" Stockman Jerry "Rebel" Stockman, 65 of Columbus, MS passed away, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. Visitation for Mr. Stockman will be Tuesday, May 2, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 3, 2012 at 10 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brian Harris, officiating and Bro. Jerry Pounders assisting. Interment will be in Rowan Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Stockman was born October 7, 1946 to the late Charlie and Lillian Atkins Stockman in Sulligent, AL, he moved to Columbus 22 years ago from Holyoke, MA. He was a great friend, enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting trees and helping everyone as the neighborhood handyman. Mr. Stockman started working at an early age, he worked at Sharon Nursery, Moore Drop Forge, Sickles Co., Interstate Painting, B & J Painting, Interstate Heating and Plumbing, and was the Owner of Golden Horse Cafe, East Street Lounge, J & L Stump Removal and finally retired in 1989 to hunt, fish and cut trees. Rebel was loved by many and will be missed by all. Mr. Stockman is survived by his wife - Linda Stockman, Columbus, MS, 1st wife - Karen Stockman, Holyoke, MA. daughter - Carrie (Brian) Labonte, Caledonia, MS, son - Larry (Ryan) Dapo, Suffield, Conn., sisters - Judy (Jerry) Pounders, Caledonia, MS, Debra (Don) Coleman, Brooksville, MS, brothers - David (Sherri) Stockman, Steens, MS, Larry (Shirley) Stockman, Fernbank, AL, and Chuck (Terri) Stockman, Caledonia, MS, grandchildren - Tiffany Labonte, Justin Labonte, Jackson Dapo and Delilah Dapo, and 1st wife - Karen Stockman, Holyoke, MA. Pallbearers will be Billy Welch, Michael Grant, Bob Pellerin, , Randall Grant, Phillip Atkins, Tom Linn, Frenchy Theriault and Lynn Dawkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Perry, John Perry, Lynn Dawkins, Monroe & McGee, Jack Schamel, Robert Snow, Ronnie Henson, Leonard Ingram, DeeDee Ryals and all his friends at Tibbee Bluff.
