Jesse Lynn Rye, 82 of Caledonia, MS passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his residence. Visitation will be Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Eddie Finch officiating. Interment will be in Egger Cemetery, Caledonia, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Rye was born March 28, 1932 to the late John Monroe and Helen Catherine Duncan Rye in Caledonia, MS he was a member of Flint Hill Methodist Church, Caledonia, MS. Mr. Rye was a veteran of the United States Navy. On March 4, 1957 he married Martha Davidson together they had 5 children. He retired in 1992 from United Technologies as Plant Superintendent after 38 years of service. Mr. Rye is survived by his wife of 57 years - Martha Davidson Rye, Caledonia, MS; daughters - Martha (W.V.) Hutcheson, Columbus, MS, Kathy (Eddie) Finch, Vernon, AL, Donna (Steve) Volz, Leeds, AL, Susan (David) Medor, Mechanicsville, VA; son - John Alan Rye, Philadelphia, PA; sister - Patricia (Jerry) Miller, Knoxville, TN; brother - Wayne (Hilda) Rye, Caledonia, MS; grandchildren - Beth (Josh) Keeton, Jess (Becky) Hutcheson, Leigh (Gary) Hayes, Katie (Michael) Dorough, Emily (Oliver) Rhudy, Kyle Medor, Ryan Medor, Christian Volz, and Hanna Volz; great-grandchildren - Shane Rhudy, Allie Rhudy, Evie Hutcheson, Easton Hayes and Bailey Jordan. Pallbearers will be Gary Jacobs, Josh Keeton, Jess Hutcheson, W.V. Hutcheson, Hugh Windle and Steve Volz. Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Jacobs, Oliver Rhudy, Ken P.
