Obituary

Jimmy Robertson Mr. Jimmy Robertson, 73 of Columbus, MS passed away, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his residence. Visitation for Mr. Robertson will be Monday, August 1, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services for Mr. Robertson will be Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Mickey Dalrymple, officiating and Bro. Sammy Crawford, assisting. He will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Robertson was born May 1, 1938 to the late Renzo and Tollie Taylor Robertson in Caledonia, MS. He lived in Lowndes County his entire life. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS where he was a member of Archie Moore's Sunday School Class and the 55+ senior citizens group. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Columbus North Gideons, a Civitan and an ordained deacon. He retired in 2004 after 50+ years of service as a automobile dealer and salesman. He enjoyed riding his tractor and playing with his grandchildren. Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife of 53 1/2 years, Evelyn Stokes Robertson, Columbus, MS, daughter – Debbie (Chris) Crawley, Columbus, MS, brother – Howard (Jean) Robertson, Columbus, MS, grandchildren – Savannah (Chris) Kinard, Jacob (Renae) Crawley and great-grandchildren - Marlie Kinard, Landon Kinard, Carrie Kinard, Madyson Crawley and Kamren Crawley. Pallbearers will be Jacob Crawley, Chris Kinard, Doug Robertson, Wayne Robertson, Ben Wesley and Buddy McCullough. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Archie Moore's Sunday School Class, Columbus Civitan Club, Columbus North Gideons, Former employees of Ray Oldsmobile GMC, Wayne West, W.V. West, Butch Bell, Billy Crossley, Mark Horning and Neal Lollar. Memorials may be made to Gideons Memorial Bible Chairman, P.O. Box, Columbus, MS 39704, Fairview Senior Adult Ministry or Fairview Building Fund 127 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS.
