Obituary
Joan Irene McHann Chandler, age 83, of Columbus, MS, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at her residence.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Walter Butler officiating.
Mrs. Chandler was born on January 6, 1935, in Philipp, MS to the late Travis and Irene Wilson McHann. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching the birds. Mrs. Chandler made the most amazing spaghetti. Her sweet golden retriever, Brinkley, would sit on the deck with her and she would brush his hair. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her brothers- Thomas M. McHann and Travis D. McHann.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by her loving husband of 64 years- George Chandler; sons- Steven D. (Sandy) Chandler of Columbus, MS; sister- Dorothy "Dot" Touchstone of Greenville, MS; and a couple of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Relay for Life.
