Joann Sansing, 73, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at The Windsor Place, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Windle officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Sansing was born August 6, 1942, to the late Charles Ed and Ida Maude Holliday Goodman in Columbus, MS. Although she was a homemaker, Mrs. Joann was an essential part of the success and acquisition of the Green Thumb Florist in 1995 and Noweta's Florist in 2001,   bringing together the two oldest florists in Columbus, MS, which is now Noweta's Green Thumb, LLC.  She loved shopping, traveling, doing jigsaw puzzles, solitaire, and her beloved and constant companions Sweetie and Miss Priss.  In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by her husband-Troy Bruce Sansing, Sr.

Mrs. Sansing is survived by her son-Bruce Sansing, Jr., Columbus, MS; brother-Frank (Margie) Goodman, Columbus, MS; A Host of Nieces and Nephews; closest to a daughter she never had-Debbie Oglesby; a granddaughter she never had-Erin Taylor; and grandson she never had-C. J. Bell; and for the last year and a half she was blessed with the arrival of her great-great nephew Brax.

Pallbearers will be Shane Oglesby, Kyle Taylor, Josh Sansing, C. J. Bell, Dean Goodman, and Luke Pounders. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Sansing, Harold (Diane) Youngblood, Dick (Ann) Christopher, Linda Sumrall, Taylor Atkins, Staff of Noweta's Green Thumb, LLC, Dr. Douglas Hill and Staff of Cardiology Associates of North MS, Dr. Michael Duckworth & Staff, Dr. Paul Seago and Staff, Staff of Lowndes Funeral Home & Crematory, Johnathan West, Marcus West, and a special thank you to all of her caregivers over the years.
