John Edward Boykin, 86, of Steens, MS, passed away June 15, 2026 at his residence.

The visitation will be Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Boykin was born on December 24, 1939 in Brooksville, MS to the late George Boykin and Margaret Perrigen Boykin.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boykin is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay Boykin, children, Terry Boykin and Theresa Boykin; 4 great grandchildren; and siblings, Lehman Boykin and George “Bubba” Boykin. He is survived by his children, Johnny Boykin, Deborah Vincent, David (Rebecca) Boykin, Melissa Harnden, and Terry (Amy) Boykin, Jr.; grandchildren, Tiffany Boykin, Christy (Leland) Keefer, Heather (Randy) Cosby, Tara Tate, Jessica (Marcus) Douglas, Steven (Myka) Vincent, Jake (Tyronda) Vincent, Canyon (Memree) Boykin, David Boykin, Jr., Clara Mae Boykin, Christie Mooney, Jamie Thorsen, Christopher (Ashley) Glenn, Joshua (Amie) Glenn, Cody (Katherine) Glenn, Evelyn (Collin) Boykin, Cameron Boykin, and Madison Boykin; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Catherine “Sis” Elmore, Ann Hobbs, Peggy Haynes, Patsy Watson.
