John Edgar Clardy, Jr., age 69, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 10:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jammie Turner officiating. A graveside will follow at Bevil Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Clardy was born on April 24, 1948, in Columbus, MS to the late John E. Clardy, Sr. and the late Mattie Mae Glenn Clardy. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church, Millport, AL. Mr. Clardy worked at the Pepsi Co., the Garment Plant, and as a heavy machine operator for Civil Service at Columbus Air Force Base, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers- Ronnie Martin Clardy, and James Donnie Clardy.

Mr. Clardy is survived by his loving wife- Linda D. Thomason Clardy, of Columbus, MS; step-son- Jody Hankins of Columbus, MS; grandchildren- Tyler D. Hankins, and Kaelyn Hankins; siblings- Pat (Louis) Johnson of Columbia, TN, Mary Nell Pate of Buhl, AL, Betty (Johny Ray) Lofton of Columbus, MS, Glenda Woodson of Petal, MS, Lonnie (Cheryl) Clardy of Columbus, MS, and Roger Clardy of Smithville, MS.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
