John Ed Collins, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at The Windsor Place, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Mr. Collins was born January 5, 1929 in Sylacauga, AL to the late Irby and Lillian Hardiman Collins. He moved from Amherst Virginia in 1982 and retired in 1996 after working as a team leader fourteen years for Weyerhaeuser Company. Mr. Collins was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife-Juanita Collins. Mr. Collins is survived by sons- Robert (Sara) Collins, Amherst, VA and James Collins, Columbia, SC; grandchildren- Jason Ray Collins, Randi Michelle Collins, Railey Marie Collins and Andrew Curtis Collins.
