John Curtis Moore John Moore, 64 of Steens, MS passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, MS with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Mr. Moore was born September 11, 1947 in Hightogy, AL to Ora Nell Conn Moore, Columbus, MS and the late William John Moore. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association. Mr. Moore retired from Royal Trucking after being a truck driver for most of his life. He was a member of the American Legion of Columbus, MS, loved NASCAR racing, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Moore was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his Mother, Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of eight years, Judith Palmer Moore, Steens, MS, daughters-Kristi Moore(Dustin Gory), Missouri and Hanna Moore, North Carolina, sons- Lane (Lucretia) Moore, Alabama, Tyler Moore, North Carolina, and Stuart Ferguson, New York, sister- Carolyn Forrester, Alabama, brothers- Billy (Joan) Moore, Alabama and Terry (Deborah) Moore, Mississippi, four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
