John Lee Pate, 45 of Carrollton, AL passed away, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Pickens County Medical Center, Carrollton, AL. Visitation for Mr. Pate will be Saturday, July 5, 2014 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Franconia Cemetery, Aliceville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Pate was born April 12, 1969 to Elizabeth Ann Hood Pate and the late James Luther Pate, Sr. in Tuscaloosa, AL. He lived in Pickens County his entire life; he enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. Mr. Pate was a self-employed electronic technician and retired in 2001. He was a member of Pickensville Baptist Church, Pickensville, AL. In addition to his father, Mr. Pate was preceded in death by his brother - James Pate, Jr., sisters - Donna Pate and Hazel Pate Bush. Mr. Pate is survived by his wife - Rhonda Pate, Aliceville, AL, son - John Clayton Pate and his mother - Melissa McCool, Carrollton, AL; mother - Elizabeth Ann Hood Pate, Aliceville, AL; sister - Mary Ann Bowen, Collins, MO; brother - Joseph Lester Pate, Pickensville, AL; step-children - Carmen Phillips, Columbus, MS and Eric Hughes, Carrollton, AL, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Daniel Ferguson, Brian McCrary, Wayne Stockman, Steven Rogers, Winston Adams, and Bobby Bowen. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Rogers, Harrison Cook, Dr. William Hill and Staff, Doctors and staff of Pickens County Medical Center, Carrollton, AL.
