Mr. John Daniel Pitts, 78, of Columbus, MS, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at his residence.

Interment will be at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Pitts was born October 21, 1943, in Vernon, AL to the late Wesley Pitts, Sr. and Louise McDaniel Pitts.  He earned his Business Management degree from Mississippi State University.  Mr. Pitts and his wife, Peggy ran Health Med, a medical equipment and supply company, in Columbus, MS, which later changed to Home Med.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a big Alabama football fan.  Mr. Pitts enjoyed gardening and taking care of his flowers.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Pitts is preceded in death by his brother – Wesley Pitts, Jr., and sisters – Sarah Pitts Pratt, Elizabeth Pitts Cantrell, Evelyn Pitts, and an infant sister.

Mr. Pitts is survived by his wife, Peggy Birmingham Pitts; son – Jeff Pitts; brother – David Pitts; sister – Ellen Sizemore.
