Obituary

John Redwine, age 90, of Columbus, MS, passed away on October 12, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle.

The visitation  will be Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Jeremy McCrory and Bro. Mitch McWilliams officiating.  The graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. at Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Bruce, MS.  Lowndes Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Redwine was born on July 31, 1935 to the late Clarence Lee Redwine and Lorene Jenkins Redwine.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Columbus, MS, where he was a Deacon and previously the Chairman of the Deacons.  He loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.  He was a caregiver for his wife and would help anyone who needed it.  Mr. Redwine loved reading and watching old Westerns.  After working in civil service for over 30 years, he retired as the Assistant Chief of Base Supply at the Columbus Air Force Base and was also a United States Air Force Veteran.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Redwine is preceded in death by his  daughters – Nancy Malone and Amy Redwine; daughter-in-law – Stacey Redwine; brothers – Elmer Lee Redwine and Leslie Earl Redwine.  He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Elizabeth Ann Redwine; children – Teresa (Andy) Perkins, Steven (Hope) Redwine, and Paul (Stacey) Redwine; son-in-law – Danny Malone; grandchildren – Heather (William) Riley, Amy Diane (Caleb) Vaden, Matthew (Jessica) Perkins, Allison Perkins, Adam Meeks (Evan Johnson), Meghan (Josh) Hanselman, Caitlyn Redwine (Andrew Boudreaux) Lori Janke, Haley (Justin) Kimbrough, Stephanie (Matt Peterson) Tiffany (Max) Wilson, great grandchildren – Lexi and Jack Riley, Eli (Jaeden), Noah, Christian and Isaiah Vaden, Andrew and Ella Perkins, Laney and Leo Boudreaux, Taylor (TJ) Keene, Brennen Cothran, Greyson Janke, Claire, Gracie, Grant and Cole Kimbrough, Addison and Mackenzie Peterson, and Walter and Maeve Wilson; and foster brother – Buddy McCammon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 6080 Hwy 45 North, Columbus, MS 39705.
