John Westmoreland John Thomas Westmoreland, 81 of Columbus, MS passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2011at Homeplace Assisted Living, Columbus, MS. No services will be held for Mr. Westmoreland. Mr. Westmoreland was born October 10, 1930 in Lexington, NC to the late Thomas Haynes and Pauline Lopp Westmoreland. He was a resident of Columbus, MS for the past two and one-half years having moved from Lexington, NC. Mr. Westmoreland retired in 1999 after 20 years in retail sales with the Army-Navy Store. He enjoyed racing, especially Indy Car and tinkered with woodworking. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Lexington, NC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Irene Westmoreland and son, John Marcus Westmoreland.
