Johnnie Ray Nickoles, 89, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at his home.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2022, in Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS
Mr. Nickoles was born June 14, 1932, in Columbus, MS to the late Thelma Lee Sullivan Nickoles and Levi Nickoles. He attended New Hope School and served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Nickoles was a skilled craftsman. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nickoles is preceded in death by his daughter Donna Henry, and son Johnnie Robert Nickoles, as well as 12 siblings.
Mr. Nickoles is survived by his wife – Margaret Lunette Butler Nickoles, daughters – Barbara Nickoles and Margaret (Charles) Aldridge, and son – Rickey Nickoles; son-in-law – Buddy Henry; grandchildren – Becky Pearson, Melissa (Jeremy) Duke, Kelly (Ken) Mason, Audrey Sullivan, Murray (Morgan) Henry, Whittney Childers, Emily Brooke (Dalton) Estes, Cody Nickoles, Kayla (Kyle Coleman) Scarborough, and 18 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers will be Dalton Speed, Levi Mason, Murray Henry, Jim Lindauer, Jeremy Duke, and Kyle Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Ellis, Ronnie Conn, Eddie Shaw, Lamar Harris, Dr. John King, Dr. Brett Brown, Danny Nickoles, and Ken Mason
