Obituary

Johnny Faucette Page, 85, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, September, 8, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-GT, Columbus, MS. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2015 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow with Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating and Bro. Breck Ladd assisting at Fairview Baptist Church. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Page was born December 24, 1929 to the late William Joseph Page, Sr. and Allie Mae Faucette Page in Turrell, AR. He graduated from Drew High School, Drew MS with the Class of 1948, and he attended the University of Indiana. Mr. Page served 21 years active duty in the Unites States Air Force before he moved to Columbus and worked in Civil Service at Columbus Air Force Base for 20 years. Mr. Page moved to the area from Marquette, MI 48 years ago. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and of the Air Force Sargeant Association. He was former Chairman of Alzheimer's state chapters, an Active Member of NARFE Chapter 1388, and an active member in John Wierengo's Sunday School Class. While serving in the United States Air Force, Mr. Page was President of the Brotherhood, served as Sunday School Superintendent and Training Union Director in the Panama Canal Zone as well as coached Little League Baseball and an All-Star Team in Panama. Most of his civil service years were at Columbus Air Force base with 3 years in Wiesbaden, Germany. He loved his granddaughters, and he enjoyed spending special time with them. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Mr. Page was also an avid Ole Miss football fan for 70 years, and he enjoyed tailgating. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers-Charles Page and James Page; and his sisters-Mary Helon Mankin, Frances, Thigpen, Ardelle Ikerd, and Catheron Dantzler. Mr. Page is survived by his wife-Bobbie L. Robb Page, Columbus, MS; daughters-Lee Ann (Todd) Glusenkamp, West Point, MS and Marsha (Steve) Ward, Caledonia, MS; son-Mike Page, Jackson, MS; grandchildren-Marley (Chad) Cummings and Madison Glusenkamp, both of West Point, MS; brother-William Joseph Page, Jr., Columbus, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brad Robb, David Robb, Andy Green, William Kittrell, Kevin Baioni, Karl Baioni, and Justin Robb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Trinity Healthcare Staff, NARFE Chapter 1388, John Wierengo's Sunday School Class, and Bennett Ophthalmology Group. Memorials may be made to Trinity Healthcare Center, 230 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702; Fairview Baptist Church, 127 Airline Road, Columbus, MS; and NARFE Chapter 1388, Alzheimer's Research, 244 Countryside Way, Columbus, MS 39702.
