Joshua "Josh" Leon Stennett was born on March 25, 1979, in Shreveport, LA to Dr. Jerry Leon Stennett and Teresa Sharp Stennett. He is survived by his wife Jessica Lorraine Farish Stennett; daughters Sophia Grace Stennett and Adelyn Faith Stennett; siblings Drew Michael Stennett, Owen Sharp Stennett, Will Carter Stennett, and Laura Olivia Stennett; and grandmother Laura Pepper Sharp. Josh passed on his late "PawPaw" Waldon Jesse Sharp Jr.'s birthday, February 6.

Visitation will be Monday, February 10, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at East End Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 10, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at East End Baptist Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Kenny Gardner and Bro Byron Benson officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens following with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Josh served as a jet engine mechanic in the United State Air Force for 5 years. After fulfilling his duties in Japan, he returned home and graduated Cum Laude from both East Mississippi Community College and Athens State University.

Josh made friends easily and he had an easy smile that attracted people to him. He was a natural salesman and was highly regarded by his clients because he went the "extra mile" for them.   He loved  exercise and was always in good shape. He had a quirky sense of humor that served him well at family gatherings and among friends.

The spark that fueled Josh's life was his family.  His love and adoration for his children, Sophia and Adelyn was plain to see.  He was always sharing his enthusiasm for the outdoors with them. To explore with his children in the outdoors was one of the delights of his life.  He loved showing them about nature sometimes in goofy, not always wise, but always fun ways.

Josh had personal struggles that would have done lesser men in, but  it never stopped him from providing for his family and spending time with his children.  In many ways Josh had a child's heart that endeared him to his family and friends but he also had a spirit and a big strong heart which served him well both in health and illness.  He fought hard to the end.
