Joyce Ann Williams, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, at Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC.

Joyce Ann Williams was born on April 12th, 1938, in Columbus, MS, to the late Phillip and Elma Burgess. Joyce had a lifelong passion for gardening and a deep love for flowers. She co-owned the Austin and Williams Flower Shop in Columbus, where she shared her green thumb and brightened the community for several years.

She married Robert "Bunky" Williams on September 17th, 1953, and together they had two children. Robert preceded her in death in 2015, as did their daughter, Pamela (John Hansford) Hoffman, in 2023. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Fred) Schaffer, of Charleston, SC; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Devereaux of Hattiesburg, MS, Jon (Kelly) Comer of Mildenhall, England, and Benjamin Schaffer of Charleston, SC; and her great-grandchildren, Savannah and Clover Whitefoot of Charlotte, NC, Lux Devereaux of Hattiesburg, MS, and Charlotte Comer of Mildenhall, England.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International in honor of Joyce Ann Williams.
