John Thomas Lancaster, 84 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, November 23, ,2021 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson, MS.

A visitation will be Friday, November 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home chapel.

Mr. Lancaster was born January 6, 1937 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late John Thomas and Trannie Edna Perrigin Lancaster.  He was a member of First Christian Church, Columbus, MS.  Mr. Lancaster was a veteran of the United States  Air Force and was self-employed.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lancaster was preceded in death by his son – Steve Lancaster.

Mr. Lancaster is survived by his wife – Jewell Thompson Myers Lancaster, Columbus MS; sons – John (Sherri) Lancaster, III and Larry Lancaster; daughter – Vonda Kay (Scott) Hudson; 6 grandchildren; and  10 great-grandchildren.
