Judy Faith Guess, 84, of Caledonia, MS, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen, MS.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 20, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at New Salem Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS, with Bro. Byron Benson officiating. Interment will be at Ross Cemetery, Hamilton, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Guess was born April 25, 1942, in Monroe County, MS, to the late George Curtis and Florence Irene Smith Seely. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She spent many years doing alterations and previously worked at Ruth’s Department Store. Mrs. Guess and her husband, Jerry Guess, created lovely wood creations and sold them at various Arts and Crafts shows and Flea Markets for many years. Mrs. Guess enjoyed fishing and going to the creek; she loved walking in her yard and was always loving and kind to anyone she met. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Guess was preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Lockhart, Reba Conn, Mavis “Polly” Stanley, Jo Brown, and her brother, Sidney “Don” Seely.
Mrs. Guess is survived by her daughter – Sherry (Garrett) Bustin, son – Jeremy Guess, grandchildren - Sarah (Tyler) Fulton, Stone (Ashley) Bustin, Malerie (Charity) Guess, and Tanner (Sarah) Bustin; great-grandchildren – Leeana Newcomb and Caroline Fulton; and sister – Martha Ott.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Bustin, Kenny Caldwell, Kenny Pierce, Steve Stovall, Brett Thompson, and Dylan Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Arndt, Bill Cagle, Daryl Guess, Tim Mowdy and Greg Lockhart.
