Sign/View Guestbook Julia Ann "Sissy" Williams Richards, 53 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, August 13, 2012 at her residence. Visitation for Mrs. Richards will be Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS with Dr. Josh Daffern officiating and Rev. David Stout assisting. Interment will be Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mrs. Richards was born April 23, 1959 in Columbus, MS to Alethea Ann Bonner Williams and the late David Harold "Shorty, Jr." Williams. She was a resident of Columbus, MS her entire life and grew up going to Mt. Vernon Church. Mrs. Richards was a graduate of the University Medical Center School of Dental Hygiene, Jackson, MS. She was employed as a dental hygienist and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Memphis, TN. Mrs. Richards was very creative, enjoyed cross stitch, loved beautiful flowers and had a green thumb. She enjoyed watching TBN and was an avid animal lover, especially her special pet companion, "Rocky." In addition to her father, Mrs. Richards is preceded in death by her grandparents - Leslie "Shorty" and Ida Lou Williams, Mamie and Nathan Daniels, and Thames Crayton Bonner; and brother - David "Sonny" Williams. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Richards is survived by her husband - Bryan Richards, Hornlake, MS; stepson - Dallas Richards, Hornlake, MS; brother - Kevin Brian (Qian) Williams, Angola, IN; nieces -Danielle Williams and Abbye Williams; nephew- Jonathan Williams; and a host of uncles, aunts ,cousins and many friends. Pallbearers will be Richard Bonner, Tyler Bonner, George Burchfield, Jr., Ed "Butch" Edmondson, Nick Simon, Mike House, Sammy Scotts and Tim Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Willis Bonner, Wayne Bonner, Charlie Bogart, Dr. Robert Buckley, Dr. Joe Hillman, Hubert Pridmore, John Lee, New Hope Class of 1977, Dr. Ghalib Mannan, Johnny Lewis Holliman and Everett Williams.
