Julie Howard Gartman, 62, entered Heaven's gates on November 21, 2019. The family will hold a Memorial Service at Canaan Baptist Church, 1008 Lehmberg Rd. Columbus, MS on Friday, November 29, 2019. Visitation with the family will be from 1-2:30 PM, with the service directly following.

Julie Ann Howard was born June 18, 1957, to the late Charles Edward Howard Sr. and Gracie Suggs Howard. She was the oldest of 6 children: Chuck (Caroline) Howard, Sandra (Mike) Spears, Steve Howard, Susan (Tony) Gallop and Jessica (David) Stephens. On July 23, 1976, she married Dennis Gartman and they had four children. Together they owned and operated J&D Dirt Construction in Columbus, MS, for nearly 30 years.

Julie's world revolved around her faith and family. Her greatest joy in life was being "Mom" and "Nanny" to her children and grandchildren: Kenny, Lacey, Kaleb and Karson Stokes. Dusty, Amy, Ava, Addison, Olivia, Donovan and Jaxon Gartman. Alisha Gartman, Lana, Lily, and Parker. Clay, Christy, Anna Kate and Ethan Gartman. Her smile could brighten your day and her laugh was contagious.

Honorary pallbearers will be all of "Aunt Julie's" nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Julie asked in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
