June Ophelia Kennedy, 86, of Columbus, MS, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at Aurora Health and Rehabilitation.

The visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Sam Vaughn officiating.  Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery in Fayette, AL.

Ms. Kennedy was born on June 1, 1939 to the late Albert and Razzie Patterson Hallman.  She worked for over 30 years at JTB Manufacturing as a sawmill worker. June loved spending time with family and listening to music.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Kennedy is preceded in death by her siblings – Herman Hallman, Maurice Hallman, Rena Mae Duncan, Wayman Hallman, Bonnie Nell House, Ann Holman, Martha Duncan;  grandchild, Cherie Dorlac  and son-in- law Alfred Dorlac.

Ms. Kennedy is survived by her children – June Elizabeth (Gary) Cook, Edward Wayne (Debi) Kennedy, Faith Ann Dorlac, and Amy Lee (James) Frye; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Aaren Butler, Colby Price, Caleb Price, Jacob Pilgrim, Noah Cook, Jeremy Phelps, and Roger Duncan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Howard Rager, Randy Butler, Charles Pilgrim, and Tim Cobb.

Special thanks to her granddaughter, Lesley Rager, for all her love, care, and time that she gave to her loving grandmother.

Family and friends will join for a celebration of life gathering after the graveside service at 576 Mac Davis Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
