Karen Ann Barksdale, 64, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus, MS. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 2:00pm from Life Church, with Pastor Jody Andrews officiating.

Mrs. Barksdale was born July 03, 1954, in O Lean, NY, to the late Charles W. and Rhea Simmons. She was Baptist by faith and had lived in the Columbus area for the last 40 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A "Kid at Heart" she enjoyed reading, video games and watching Pokemon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister Brenda Joyce Simmons.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years Ray Barksdale; three children: Tammy (Ernest) Nowland of Columbus, Jamie (Ashley) Barksdale of Caledonia, and Randy (Morgan) Barksdale of Columbus, one brother: Albert E. (Kathleen) Simmons of Oark, Ark; two sisters: Sherry L. (Gordon) Irons of Cyclone, PA, and Darlene M. (Ralph) Weaver of Driftwood, PA; twelve grandchildren: Byron, Ernest, Gauge, Landon, Shaylynn, Michael, Raeleigh, John, Aiden, Brianna, Lyam and Bryson; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fresenius Medical Care and Dr. Jason Dunn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to a local charity of the donor's choice.
