Obituary

Karen Marie Bond, 55, of Columbus, MS, passed away, Sunday, November 17, 2024, at D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Karen was born January 3, 1969, in Columbus, MS, to Jack and Lonna Taylor. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Union Hill Baptist Church in Reform, Alabama with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Karen is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Bond; two children, Nathan Tyler Sides (Olivia) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Wesley Trey Sides (Jessica) of Norfolk, Virginia; and two grandchildren, Nevaeh and Brayden Sides of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind five loving siblings: Jackie Taylor (Deborah) of New Hope, Mississippi, Sandra Hodnette (Jimmy) of Southaven, Mississippi, Pam Wheeler (Stan) of Columbus, Mississippi, Johnny Taylor of Columbus, Mississippi, and Donna Taylor of Aliceville, Alabama; and sister-in-law, Valerie Taylor.  Karen knew she was blessed with a large family and loved her host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Taylor of New Hope, Mississippi, her son, Matthew Taylor Sides, and her parents, Freddie Ross "Jack" and Lonna Jean Taylor. Karen was also preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Mary Jane Robinson, and George Carl and Myrtle Taylor, all of Columbus, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Christine Williams, of Columbus, MS, and stepson, Shawn Bond, of Shreveport, LA.

Though Karen's health often presented challenges, she faced each day with grace, strength, and an unwavering faith in the Lord. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her kind spirit and bright smile made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Karen's life may have ended on earth, but her love, faith, and spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family. She was a shining example of living with grace, courage, and a heart full of love.

Pallbearers will be Stan Wheeler, Shane Gray, Micah Taylor and Terry Fitch

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, 800 Avery Blvd,, Ste. # 100, Ridgeland, MS 39211.

Karen's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will be greatly missed.

She was a God-fearing Christian lady that gave her heart and soul to help anyone.  She was a blessing from God. She had many health conditions, but was a strong lady. May she rest in peace. From Larry and her family.
