Karen Rena Cushing, 56 of Cordova, TN passed away at Methodist Germantown Hospital, Germantown, TN on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Visitation for will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry Robbins officiating.  Interment will be at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Cushing was born June 10, 1965 to Bill and Doris Ussery Peaks in Columbus, MS.  She worked for 22 years as a librarian and teacher at various schools, then most recent being Pleasant View School, Memphis, TN.  She was a licensed Librarian and loved history.  Mrs. Cushing's hobbies included reading and genealogy.  She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, and the Tennessee Educators Association.

Mrs. Cushing is survived by her husband – James "Jim" Cushing; father – Bill Peaks; mother – Doris Ussery Peaks; brother – Chris (Lesly) Peaks; step-children – Jennifer Cushing Ruiz and Jacqueline Huttee; nephew – Spencer Williams; nieces – Alexis Williams and Alex Peaks.

Pallbearers will be Mike Robbins, Hunter Boland, Blake Michael, Ronnie Pennington, Richard Davis, Ricky Ussery and Jason Junkin.
