Karen N. Winter, 65, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus. Lowndes Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to be entrusted with final arrangements.
Mrs. Winter was born December 29, 1953, in Alabama, to the late John and Grace Nix. She was a loyal and devoted employee of the Colom Law Firm in Columbus where she worked as a Legal Secretary for over 20 years. The wife and mother in law of Truck Drivers, she was a member of LOADS, a support group, which provided love and direction for over the road truck drivers and their families. She was very talented with a Crochet Needle, with which she was able to create intricate Afghans, these beautiful works of art will be forever cherished by the family that she leaves behind. Of all her life's accomplishments, her most prized award was her title of "Nana," as being a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was her proudest achievement.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Winter and one sister Sandy Cleveland.
She is survived by Christine (Joe) Frost of Sweet Home, OR, four grandchildren: Kevin (Abbey) Frost, Krystan (Fred) Bjornson, Joey Frost and Leslie Frost; six great grandchildren: Bradly, E.J., Hunter, Trystan, Jillian and Dacoda; one sister: Brenda (David) Lively; two nieces: Stacy and Caitlin; one nephew: Zackary; and her beloved dog "Bella."
