Katherine Rast, 69, of Steens, MS passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GTR.

No services are scheduled at this time.  Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Rast was born on April 27, 1953, in Ohio to the late Clark Bair and Sarah Anderson Emerick.  She loved her dog, Jelly Bean.  She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and taking care of the neighborhood kids.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband – Paul Lee Rast, Sr., and her son – Bobby Joe Rast.  She is survived by her children – Melissa Sands and Christopher Rast; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a special friend – Libby Strickland.
