Kathryn Blackston, age 89, of Steens, MS passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 3:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy Holmes officiating. Interment will be in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Blackston was born on May 13, 1929, in Glendora, MS to the late Lee and Virrile Chrestman Wright. She loved to quilt and garden. Ms. Blackston also enjoyed going to church. She worked as a mail sorter at the post office in Steens, MS for many years. In addition to her parents, Ms. Blackston was preceded in death by her husband- Henry H. Blackston and her son- Joe Blackston.

Ms. Blackston is survived by her children- Doyle (Gail) Blackston of Kalispell, MT, Glenda Kibe of Columbus, MS, Brenda (Donnie) Crews of Aberdeen, MS, Bobby (Ivy) Blackston of Columbus, MS; Paul (Wilma) Blackston of Elizabethton, TN, and Mike (Sue) Blackston of Montgomery, All 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and her niece- Wanda Blackston.

Pallbearers will be Brian Crews, Gary Blackston, Robert Blackston, Paul Watkins, Jason Blacktson, Jerimiah Blackston.
