Katie Mae Frisbie, 94 of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, July 14, 2014 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. Visitation is Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be at 12:00 with Bro. James Black officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Frisbie was born February 12, 1920 in Millport, Alabama to the late Clark William and Oma Lou Selph Stokes. She moved to Lowndes County 25 years ago from Brandon, MS. Mrs. Frisbie was a nurse for over 26 years, having worked at several hospitals in Jackson, MS and 10 years at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Mrs. Frisbie was a member of St. Stephens Methodist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years- Robert Dean Frisbie; son- William Frisbie; sister-Neva A. Stokes; brothers-Clyde D. Stokes and Clay Stokes. Mrs. Frisbie is survived by her daughter- Mary Frisbie Byron, Columbus, MS; sister-Mozelle Lollar; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren: 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jimmy HIldreth, James Siegle, Tom Stokes, Clyde L. Stokes, Clint Stokes and Jack McGee. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Youngblood, David Ashmore, Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit and The Men's Club at St. Stephens Methodist Church.
