Katie Mayo Douell Jones, 79 of Amory, MS passed away Friday, October 16, 2015, at Oak Tree Manor Assisted Living, Amory, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, October 18, 2015, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will be Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Gardner officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens, Aliceville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Jones was born October 24, 1935 to the late Will and Cordie McCreight Mayo in New Albany, MS. She retired from United Technologies after 20 years of service as an Assembly Line Worker. Mrs. Jones was a member of Columbus Christian Center, Columbus, MS. She married Albert "Red" Jones on September 26, 1970 in Columbus, MS was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband - Albert "Red" Jones; grandchild - Kody Meadows; sisters - Modine Stephens and Infant sister; brother - W.C. Mayo and several half-brothers and half-sisters. Mrs. Jones is survived by her 2 daughters - Carolyn (Donnie) Reeves and Debbie Mayfield; 3 grandchildren - Matthew (Erin) Reeves, Katelyn Meadows, Breanna Wells; 2 great-grandchildren - Eli Reeves and Hank Reeves; 3 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Richard Willis, Jamie Wells, Matthew Reeves, Hoyt Richards, Scott Mayo and Chase Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Richards and Alton Reeves.
