Obituary

Keith Allen Harvey, 56, passed away peacefully in his sleep early Sunday, November 7, 2021.

Visitation for family, friends, and telemarketers, who called him more than family and friends and easily located him all the time, is scheduled for Friday, November 12, 2021, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at United Pentecostal Church, where Keith worked with all of his children in the church and special memories were made.  The memorial service will follow visitation at 6:00 PM.  United Pentecostal Church is located at 5850 Cal Kolola Road, Caledonia, Mississippi 39740.

Keith was born September 13, 1965, at Hahn Air Force Base in Germany.  He graduated from Lee High School and attended East Mississippi Community College, Mississippi State University, and Mississippi University for Women.   He worked for Triangle Air & Electric for 17 years then started his own Refrigeration & Electrical Specialty Company, Southern Services of Columbus, LLC.  Keith was known to all who worked with him for his work ethic and commitment to quality workmanship.  Keith enjoyed traveling with his family and chauffeuring his favorite fluffy friend, Kaiser, along with his wife across the Southeast.  Some of his many adventures include a road trip to the state of Washington, stopping by national and state parks to see the beauty of America.  Keith also took his family on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, many trips to cabins in the Tennessee mountains, beach trips to places such as St. Augustine and Destin, Florida, and camping at several state parks.  Many memories were made in Keith's fishing boat, by the campfire, in the camper, his family shared, and on their family adventures.  Keith and his family also spent many nights stargazing and talking about the wonders of space and God's creation.  He loved working and spending time with his wife and children on their property in Vernon, Alabama. They even found a new family member in Vernon whom he named "Taco", also known as one of the family dogs named Hazel, waiting for them one Saturday morning at the property.  Keith was known for his quick-wit and humor and ability to give anything or person a fitting nickname.  They spent many days and weekends off working on family projects supervised and directed by Keith in Vernon.  He taught his family how to become contractors, how to build structures and work with heavy equipment including a bulldozer.  He didn't hesitate to teach his daughters, along with his son, how to operate chainsaws, bush hogs, backhoes, the Sawzall, and much more.  All of Keith's children also worked on job sites helping with the family business.  He made sure his daughters could maintain their vehicles and taught his son to continue work through his business.  Keith was very proud of his family and their many accomplishments.  He was known to his three grandchildren as Boss Man.  Keith loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed watching old Disney movies and Dishscapes with them for nap time.  Keith loved and treasured his wife and enjoyed sitting in the living room with her listening to his favorite music.  Time spent with family is more precious than gold.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Donald Edward Harvey, and his brother, Daniel Edward Harvey.

Keith is survived by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis Carlisle Harvey; mother Virginia Harvey; children Keighly Dawn Harvey, Kristen Leigh Harvey, Allen Carlisle (Kristen) Harvey, and Mackenzie Harvey; sisters Vickie Blacklock and Terry Simpson; grandchildren Charlotte Ruth Harvey, Olivia Jane Harvey, and Marshall Carlisle Harvey; and three nephews Geoffrey Comer, Lee Blacklock, and William Blacklock.

Keith loved his wife and family very much and he will be greatly missed.
