Kenneth George Smith, 84, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle.

There are no services scheduled at this time and will be announced at a later date.  Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Smith was born on July 12, 1938, in Townley, AL, to the late Sidney Smith and Virgie Wilson Smith.  He was a 20-year veteran of the National Guard.  Mr. Smith enjoyed golf and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Kenneth George Smith is survived by his wife – Leona Janet Smith; son – Kenneth George (Tressa) Smith, Jr.; daughter – Kimberly Sue Smith; grandchildren – Kenneth Tyler Smith, Brandi Lynn Smith, Travis Aaron Smith; and two great-grandchildren; step-children – Ronald D. Bufkin, Ritchie S. Bufkin, and Ransey E. Howard; and six step-grandchildren.
