Kermit Tilford Baucom

Kermit Tilford Baucom, Jr. of Columbus, MS, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Eastview Church in Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Eastview Church in Columbus, MS with Bro. Junior Eads officiating. Lowndes Funeral Home is entrusted with all arrangements.

Kermit was born November 7, 1947, in Lowndes County to the late Tilford Kermit Baucom, Sr. and Myrtle Elizabeth Walden Baucom. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Kermit enjoyed fishing and hunting. He coached softball for many years. In addition to his parents, Kermit is preceded in death by his daughter, Bridget B. Yarbrough; sisters- Wanda Andrews, Katherine Phillips, and Martha Cole; brothers- Kermit Monroe “Pete” Baucom, Ellis E. “Pork” Baucom, David S. Baucom, and Paul Baucom.

Kermit is survived by his wife, Judy Pritchard Baucom, daughters- Tabitha (Wade) Beard, and Rachel (Tim) Daniels; son, Jodi (Kristen) Baucom; son-in-law- John Yarbrough; grandchildren- Justin Butler, Jaci Yarbrough, KayJay Daniels, Morgan Yarbrough, Brittni Beard, Hunter Beard, Brett Beard, and Skyla Daniels; great grandchildren- Brenton Butler, Carson Butler, Gatlin Butler, and Tilley Ramer; brothers- Tony A. Baucom, Leslie Baucom, Michael Baucom, and brother-in-law/brother, Donald Pritchard.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Beard, Justin Butler, Montana Ramer, David Adkins, Brett Beard, and Nick Dowdy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Wade Beard, Tim Daniels, Todd Baucom, nieces and nephews, and Baptist Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center, 3701 Loop Road East, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
