Kobe Bryant Strickland, 12, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at University Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 11:00AM1:00PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 1:00PM at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Shelton officiating. Interment will be held at Christian Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery, Millport, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Kobe was born June 22, 2002 in Columbus, MS to Ginger Strickland and the late John Thomas Bryant. He attended Stateline Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Kobe was in the 6th grade at New Hope Middle School. He is preceded in death by his father - John Thomas Bryant. Kobe is survived by his mother - Ginger Strickland, Columbus, MS; sisters - Madison Mason, Columbus, MS and Lindsey Bryant, Caledonia, MS; brother - Jason Bryant, Caledonia, MS; maternal grandmothers - Faye Strickland and Billie Mason, both of Columbus, MS; paternal grandparents - Bill and Barbara Bryant, Columbus, MS; uncles - Marty Strickland, Teddy Strickland, and B.J. Bryant, Jr.; aunts - Angie Mason-Dobbs, Crystal Strickland, Theresa Bryant Hendrix, Sandra Lavernge, and Kim Mason. Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, Mike Smith, Jonathan Smith, Ernest Mason, Billy Dobbs, and Keith Painter.
