Larry "Red" Alexander Larry "Red" Alexander, 72, of Columbus, MS passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 at his residence. Visitation for Mr. Alexander will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 from 2:00 - 3:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel, Columbus, MS. Interment will be in Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus, MS. Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. Mr. Alexander was born November 30, 1938 to the late O.W. "Sam" & Bessie Ennis Alexander in Columbus, MS. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Four County Electric and retired from Columbus Light & Water in 1978 as a lineman supervisor. He enjoyed driving to the river and Nascar. He was an avid Ole Miss fan and loved his dog Sissy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Alexander is preceded in death by his brothers - O.W. Alexander and Cecil Alexander. Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife - Brenda Alexander, Columbus, MS, Son - Greg (Sharon) Alexander, Columbus, MS, daughter - Kim (Mike) McElhenney, Columbus, MS, sisters - Betty Fancher, Richmond, TX & Sharon Waas, Richmond, TX, brother - Tommy Alexander, Ethelsville, AL, Grandchildren - Kristi Alexander, Sherrie Alexander, & Mitchell McElhenney. Pallbearers will be James Spears, Cecil Peacock, C.F. Harris, Coy Mitchell & Matt Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Alexander, Joseph Reed, Charles Sanders, Al Simmons & Dr. Cameron Huxford.
