Larry Andrews, 84, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Community Baptist Church. Memorial service will be Friday, March 29, 2024, at  2:00 PM with Pastor Markus Thomas and Rev. Wes Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Columbus, MS.

Mr. Andrews was born on April 22, 1939, to the late Lucian Pascal and Margaret Evelyn Lancaster Andrews. After graduating from New Hope High School in 1957, Mr. Andrews served in the United States Army, fulfilling his military obligation. He was employed as an electrician with City Electric and later Omnova Solutions, where he retired in 2003. Mr. Andrews was well known as a faithful man of God. He served Community Baptist Church as a deacon and member of the choir. Mr. Andrews cherished time spent with his sons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, classic movies, and college sports. He was an avid Mississippi State fan. Mr. Andrews is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Becky Andrews; his parents Lucian and Evelyn Andrews; sister in –law- Ann Andrews; and brothers- Joe and Billy Andrews.

Mr. Andrews is survived by his sons Shane and Spence Andrews of Columbus; brother- Dwight Andrews of Columbus, MS; sister- Regina Miller of Columbus; sister- Elaine Eaves (Wayne) of Columbus; sister-in-law- Wanda Andrews of Columbus; granddaughter- Megan Rushing (Jonathan) of Kennedy, Alabama; and great-granddaughter- Milayva Elesse  Rushing of Kennedy, Alabama. Mr. Andrews is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be George Coleman, Jonathan Rushing, Bill Delk, Joe Owen, Max Porter, and Larry Taylor.  Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Community Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made in honor of Larry Andrews to the Columbus-Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702
