Mr. Larry Joe Brownlee, 64, of Columbus, MS passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle.
Visitation will be 10:00 AM-12:00 PM Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. Funeral service will follow at noon with Curtis Hollingsworth officiating, and Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Brownlee was born on January 28, 1958, in Columbus, MS to the late Loventrice Burns Brownlee and John Thomas Brownlee. He was an employee of Kroger for 30 years in the dairy department. Mr. Brownlee also served on the Lowndes County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and was Scout Master for Boy Scouts Troop 1 for 11 years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Camp Floating Turtle. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Baptist Ambulance Service, Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT doctors, nurses and ED admissions department, Fresenius Dialysis Center staff, and Dr. Christopher Lebran, Dr. Keith McCoy, and Dr. Harry Richardson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brownlee is preceded in death by his brothers Douglas Wayne Brownlee and Edward Thomas Brownlee.
Mr. Brownlee is survived by his wife – Melanie Sowell Brownlee; sons – Larry (Abbie) Brownlee, Jr., Josh (Jessica) Brownlee, Adam (Gabriella) Mitchell; sister – Pam Brownlee; grandchildren – Owen Mitchell, Noah Mitchell, Thomas Nanney, and Kipton Brownlee.
