Obituary

Larry Scott Campbell, 69, of Columbus, MS passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church, Steens, MS. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM with Bro. Rob Dowdle and Bro. Charles Mullins officiating.

Mr. Campbell was born September 14, 1950 in Jackson, MS to Prebble Clark Campbell and the late Linnard S. Campbell. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years as a Master Sargent and having served during Vietnam and was one of the Ash Warriors, he stayed behind and closed Clark A.F.B. in the Philippines after the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. Mr. Campbell married the former Deborah Carter on June 10, 1972 in Jackson, MS. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Steens, MS. Mr. Campbell loved people, was a family man and loved his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a Mississippi State fan and enjoyed car racing. In addition to his father, Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his sister- Sandra Poole.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 47 years- Deborah Carter Campbell of Columbus, MS; sons- Ray (Tracey) Campbell of Columbus, MS, Michael (Valerie) Campbell of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren- Ben Campbell, Aaron Campbell, Bekah Campbell; mother- Prebble Clark Campbell of Jackson, MS; brother- Lee (Suzy) Campbell of Brandon, MS.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Immanuel Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 6342 Military Road, Steens, MS 39766.
