Larry Dale Baswell, 76 of Columbus, MS, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Baswell was born on December 7, 1949, to the late Dewitt and Reta Price Baswell in Columbus, MS. He was a graduate of New Hope High School, Columbus, MS. Mr. Baswell was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and retired as a truck driver. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Columbus, MS, and enjoyed bike riding, poetry, reading, and traveling. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baswell was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Baswell, brothers – Kenneth Baswell and Gary Wayne Baswell, sisters – Penny Diane Baswell and Lisa Haas.

Mr. Baswell is survived by his children – Larry Dale Baswell, Jr., Jason Baswell, Heather Baswell, Christopher Baswell, and Matthew Baswell. Sisters – Katie Walker and Wanda McCrary, brothers – Clifton Baswell and Douglas Baswell. Grandchildren – Kaitlyn Spruill, Devin Spruill, Britney Pennington, Alyssa Steinport, Tyler Holman, Jayson Baswell, and Jared Holman; Justin Baswell, Jacob Baswell, Gracie Baswell, Grayson Baswell, Bernadette Baswell, Rebecca Baswell, Anthony Baswell, Great-grandchild -  Jaycee Lee.
