Larry "Pop" Hickman, 57 of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his residence. Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Ed McGeachy officiating and Lowndes Funeral Home directing. There will be a private family graveside in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS. Mr. Hickman was born December 23, 1955 in Mountain Home, AR to the late Bill and Audie Talbott Hickman. He retired in 2012 from Weyerhaeuser with 28 years of service. Mr. Hickman belonged to various fishing clubs and enjoyed fishing with his sons and buddies on the river, relaxing in the back yard, bird watching, computer games and online shopping. He also enjoyed being with his grandchildren, eating out with his family, joking with his daughter-in-law, making people laugh, BBQ'ing, traveling with his wife, gardening and yard work. Mr. Hickman shared music with his daughter and loved his best friend – Roscoe the dog. Mr. Hickman had a strong work ethic and a funny sense of humor. He was a hard worker, loved impersonating famous people, and was proud of his children. He was patient, gentle, quiet, a thinker and a supportive husband and provider. Mr. Hickman is survived by his wife-Diane Phillips Hickman, daughter- Amanda (Darren) Hickman Gurney, son- Adam (Gini) Hickman, brother- Randy Hickman, half -sister- Peggy Haviland, grandchildren- Holland Hickman, Evelyn Gurney, Addison Gurney, Spence Hickman and Kaylie Dobbins. Pallbearers will be Randy Hickman, Casey Barefield, Curtis Barefield, Tommy Knight, James Williams and Curt Nebben. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Williams, Class of 1973 Mountain Home High School, C Shift Weyerhaeuser Team, Jordan Sumrall and Darren Gurney.
