Laura Pennington Laura Bell Pennington, 85 of Columbus, MS passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Specialty Hospital of Meridian, Meridian, MS. Visitation for Mrs. Pennington is Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 1 – 3 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. Funeral Services will follow at 3PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Oscar Maddox officiating, interment in Memorial Gardens, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Pennington was born June 28, 1926 to the late Joseph Pearl and Willie Annie Chain Davis in Walker County, AL. She moved to Columbus in 1955 from Mobile, AL. She was a homemaker and mother to six sons. She enjoyed quilting, gardening especially flowers and reading her bible. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Columbus, MS. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pennington was preceded in by her husband – Lecil G. Pennington and son – Lecil Wayne Pennington. Mrs. Pennington is survived by her sons – Glenn J. Pennington, Caledonia, MS, Donald Pennington, Baltimore, MD, Danny (Carolyn) Pennington, Columbus, MS, A. Merrel (Beth) Pennington, Saltillo, MS and Eddie G. (Donna) Pennington, Caledonia, MS. Brother – Grady N. Davis, Byram, MS, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Pennington, Corey Trevathan, Donnie Pennington, Jason Pennington, Corey Pennington, J.P. Pennington, Casey Mastley, Kent Coscia and Chad Baird. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Calvary Assembly of God Church, Columbus, MS.
